Global university rankings laud Hong Kong for AI, dentistry and education
Quacquarelli Symonds, a UK-based education information firm, has released its latest annual results for more than 18,300 subjects at over 1,700 universities

The city also accounted for the most universities in Asia among a global top 50 ranking for data science and artificial intelligence (AI) courses, with its overall contributions to the list only surpassed by the United States.
In the latest annual results published on Wednesday and compiled by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a UK-based education information firm, the city’s universities had stand-out performances in dentistry, education, nursing, geography and linguistics.
The rankings are based on a global survey of more than 175,000 academics and over 100,000 employers. The listings cover more than 18,300 subjects at over 1,700 universities in 100 countries and cities.
The survey uses five metrics: status among academics; employer reputation; research citations per paper; productivity and impact of the published work of scholars; and international research network.
Among 231 academic offerings across eight public universities in the city and the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, 58 moved up from last year and 13 fell.
