Jr NTR finally made a public appearance after a long hiatus, attending the success celebrations of Mad 2, the film starring his brother-in-law, Narne Nithin. During the event, NTR delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing immense gratitude to his fans for making Devara a major success.
One of the biggest highlights of his speech was his clarification regarding the rumors surrounding Devara 2. Speculation had been rife that the sequel had been shelved due to mixed reactions to the first installment.
NTR firmly dismissed these rumors, stating that Devara 2 is very much in the works and will begin production once he completes his current crazy action film with director Prashanth Neel. "All those who thought Devara 2 would not happen, I’m confirming that we will be back with a bang," he declared.
On a lighter note, NTR spoke about the challenges of doing comedy, admitting that it is the most difficult genre for him. He specifically mentioned that this is the reason he has no plans to take on Adhurs 2. The original Adhurs was a blockbuster, with NTR’s portrayal of a quirky priest becoming iconic. Despite fans’ constant requests for a sequel with director VV Vinayak, NTR confirmed he won’t be revisiting the character anytime soon, leaving fans a bit disappointed.
NTR was in high spirits as he praised the Mad 2 team. "I thoroughly enjoyed the film—it was a laugh riot. Every actor delivered, and making Rs 80 crore with a cast of newcomers is no small feat," he said.

Finally, speaking about his brother-in-law Narne Nithin, NTR revealed, "I was shocked when Nithin said he wanted to act. I told him to follow his heart but not expect any help from me. To date, he hasn’t asked for anything and has carved his path in Tollywood. I’m proud of him."
Mad 2 continues its successful run in theaters. Netflix has acquired the OTT rights and will premiere the film in the last week of April 2025.
